The core distinction between standard drilling accessories and products manufactured by a high-grade HammerBit factory lies in the sub-microscopic crystal structure of the materials. Premium factories utilize premium nickel-chrome-molybdenum steel alloys (such as 23CrNi3Mo or equivalent grades). These materials undergo localized vacuum carburization to establish a hardened wear-resistant exterior shell (often measuring up to 60-62 HRC) while preserving a ductile, highly resilient interior core (around 38-42 HRC). This combination prevents both surface wear and catastrophic fatigue cracking.
Additionally, the tungsten carbide inserts (buttons) are fabricated using optimized powders with highly balanced binder fractions (typically Cobalt percentages ranging from 6% to 10%).
