Product Description

Taper drill rod is used for rock drilling, blasting holes and other drilling works in the quarries, coal mines, traffic and other contractions. It works with taper drill bits and has different length for various applications. Our taper drill rods come in a variety of taper angles. Generally, the light duty rock drill usually use 7 taper or smaller taper angle, while the heavy duty rock drill mainly use 11 or 12 taper angle. The basic theory is that taper drill rods and taper drill bits must be in the same tapered degree. We provide tapered rods in a full range of shank configurations and steel hex diameters for hand-held pneumatic drilling needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the primary applications for taper drill rods?
Taper drill rods are widely used for rock drilling, blasting holes, and other excavation tasks in quarries, coal mines, and infrastructure construction projects.
How do I choose the correct taper angle for my rock drill?
Generally, light-duty rock drills use a 7° or smaller taper angle, while heavy-duty rock drills require 11° or 12° angles. It is essential that the rod and bit have matching angles.
What materials are these drill rods manufactured from?
They are made from high-quality carbon steel and specialized alloys like 95CrMo, 55SiMnMo, and 40Simncrnimo to ensure durability and resistance to wear.
What shank sizes are available for hex drill rods?
Standard shank sizes include Hex 22mm x 108mm and Hex 25mm x 108mm, with various other lengths available for specific pneumatic drilling equipment.
How is the product protected during transportation?
Products are securely packed in heavy-duty wooden cases or bundled to prevent damage during international shipping and handling.
Can you provide rods in different lengths?
Yes, we offer a flexible range of lengths from 0.4 meters up to 10 meters to accommodate different drilling depths and project requirements.
